Blackberry has entered the competition of tablets by the launch of its Playbook. With a completely new OS it has  huge expectations of the public.
The Blackberry Playbook has a 7 inch LCD screen with a crisp 1024x600 WSVGA display resolution. Its edges and rear side are rubberised which gives a good grip to the device. The power key is placed at the top central position.
The blackberry playbook is featured with a 1Ghz, dualcore, Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 System on a chip. It runs on a whole new operating System - the Black berry Tablet OS based on QNX Neutrino micro kernel architecture.
A strong point of the tablet is multitasking. Although we have seen multitasking on iPad 2 and other Android tablets, none of those can come close to what blackberry brings to table with playbook.
You can play a game in one app, check your mailbox in another and have an HD Video running on another app without any slowdown.

Blackberry playbook has introduced a feature called Blackberry Bridge . What the Blackberry Bridge does is synchronizes your Blackberry Smartphone with the Playbook via Bluetooth connection. once connected and synchronized the Blackberry Bridge will form a separate tab which could house apps such as Blackberry Messenger, mail, calendar, contacts , messages etc without storing any of them to your playbook rather sharing them between your tablet and smartphone and thus protecting your data.
As the bluetooth link is 256 bit AES encrypted one so ypou can browse the web or use the blackberry messenger under a secure environment.
Blackberry Playbook's web browser is named Webkit which shares its name with the rendering engine licenced by Apple. It has a great Video playback and supports many formats such as .MOV, .AVI, .WMV, but sadly does not support .MKV.
